ISO 9001:2015 site approval success

Following a facility relocation in 2019, C4 Carbides Ltd (C4) have been successful in transferring its Management System approval against the ISO 9001:2015 standard, to its new facility in Newmarket.
 
Certification to the ISO 9001:2015 standard is site specific and the move to International House was considered a “change to approval” for C4.  C4 chose Lloyds Register (LR) to verify its Management System remained fully compliant to ISO 9001:2015 and appropriate for the new facility following the move.
 
In preparation for the audit by LR in February 2020, C4’s Quality Team conducted an extensive internal ISO 9001:2015 audit to verify all plant, equipment and associated IT systems were fully functional and that product quality had been maintained following the relocation to Newmarket.  A full report of this internal audit was provided to the LR auditor who in turn conducted a comprehensive audit throughout the Newmarket site. The LR audit was a complete success with no adverse findings and led to the issue of a new ISO 9001:2015 certificate.
 
Commenting on the achievement, Andrew Auker-Howlett, C4’s Quality Manager said “Operating and maintaining a Management System certified to ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates to our Customers and our staff that C4 is serious about quality and the continual improvement of our products and services. Independent certification to this internationally recognised standard also brings the assurance that our business is conducted formally and that our product quality is maintained to the standards our Customers expect. It was vital for C4 to maintain the recognition and advantages that ISO 9001:2015 certification brings and this was central to our thinking when considering the facility move.
 
The facility move was complex and brought many challenges but by careful planning and hard work by our dedicated C4 team we achieved a resounding success. We have a great new facility that we are very proud of and proud too of our ISO 9001:2015 certification.”
